Xxavier Polk, a nomadic creative, leaves his mark through lens and sound. New York-born and Charlotte, NC based, he weaves his artistic callings into sensory exploration. He unravels the intricacies of black sensualism within photography, music, film, songwriting, poetry, sustainability, design, & beyond.

Distinctively prioritizing sensuality, he activates all the senses in his work, exploring its depths in objects, musical/vocal textures, writing and space, unearthing vulnerability. He navigates the realm of sensuality, infusing love, emotion, and empowerment into his art, transcending traditional labels placed on black men to engage the world in a multi-sensory experience. As sensuality is the poetry of God’s experience & identity for him.

From capturing the essence of BASF's endeavors through southern America as a photographer, director, and producer, to curating immersive experiences at FRIEZE LONDON for the North American Pavilion with OF THE CLOTH, his work is a testament to his boundless creativity.

One of his notable works, "Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land 2022," delves into the depths of the exploitation of Heir’s Property, shedding light on the journey of reclaiming agricultural legacy and paving the way to generational wealth. Garnering accolades including Best Documentary Feature at prestigious festivals like BrandStorytelling 2024 at Sundance Film Festival and sparking dialogues at esteemed institutions like Harvard Kennedy School: Institute of Politics. His photography was instrumental in the film's dynamic presentation and utilized for campaign purposes.

"A Place Called Home," A Permanent Address’s debut exhibition captivated audiences for a cycle spanning from late winter through early spring 2024. This momentous event offered an immersive experience of showcased works by Xxavier and fellow contemporary Black artists, alongside curated antiquities and objects reflecting the exhibit's inspirations. The studio & gallery, A Permanent Address, explores the profound connections between objects, space, art and our ultimate home: our bodies, transcending conventional design paradigms.
